What is going on with this development?
We live next door and have heard nothing about this?
Submitted to council 17/12, passed 19/12??

I strongly support this proposal for much needed housing, it is out on a paddock, minding its own business. It is low density - in line with the community's desired character. I grew up in Kiama, worked in Nowra several years and visit family there. This area should not be as costly as it is currently, there is no shortage of land. Housing is selling for much more than the cost to build it.
More housing will ease prices according to the research. People need somewhere to live, and our shortages are directly causing price rises and cost of living pressure, as well as poor social outcomes of people having to move away from their communities.
The alternative is to triple the height restrictions closer to town to allow more unit housing, and I would also welcome that instead. Denser urban areas have higher amenity, they are more livable. Perhaps the community would prefer this over the negative consequences of sprawl - traffic, environment, family isolation.
We cant have both.
There is no need for this. The infrastructure here will no work.
As a ratepayer and a resident of Erowal Bay for 24 years, I STRONGLY am opposed to a boarding house at 3 King George Street Erowal Bay.
We are a quiet little area where children are safe and are able to play outside without parents worrying of who is around.
I am very interested in knowing who will be the occupants at this boarding house and also what mode of transport will they have.
I do not like this at all

Amazed that fireplaces are being proposed. More pollution and definite health hazard, especially for asthmatics. Please do not allow fireplaces.
This rented residence is already an alert with 3 dogs being deemed to be Nuisance!
Unless the owner is moving back personally I consider this to be an ever bigger problem with a reduction in grass size
I have seen this DA for 41 Boorawine St, Callala Bay. I understand this is an application for dual occupancy with the driveways of both houses exiting onto Boorawine Street. Boorawine street is a direct thoroughfare from Sheaffe Street to Bay Street, a distance of some 3 km. During weekends and holiday periods Boorawine St is used by walkers, many boating people, yachts and any number of people going to look at the water near the boat ramp. During public holidays and breaks such as Christmas, Easter and school holidays there are often boat trailers queued along Boorawine street to get to the boat ramps. To now have two new driveways adding to that congestion needs to be reconsidered. The development can easily cater for separate driveways exiting onto Watt St, thereby reducing some of the traffic congestion on Boorawine St. It is respectfully requested the location of the driveways be repositioned onto Watt Street.
I can’t believe what isplanned for 58 Tahnee street Sanctuary point. With townhouses being built in this small estate already the traffic is astronomical and not fair to the residents that built there as single dwelling. Already there are numerous duplex’s in the estate, just remember just about everyone these days have 2 cars per family. Where is everyone going to park. There are a lot of children in this tiny estate I’dlike to think you would think of their safety. My daughter lives in the estate and it’s already a nightmare to visit her.

Our property is at the rear of this address (though not directly behind) and will be overlooked by the grannyflat rear windows/deck area. We request a privacy screen or new, higher fence be added to the plans.
thankyou
Congratulations to the designers and builders of these houses. They will fit in very well to the existing streetscape and are a great design.
Can Council please ensure that there is an adequate absorption trench along the rear NE boundary to absorb the overflow water from heavy rain and stop it from entering blocks along The Lake Circuit and that the swimming pool has provision to empty water into the storm water system?
Not appropriate for the area. Will destroy vital habitat corridor needed in supporting endangered wildlife. Please save our wildlife and remaining remnant vegetation.
Now I no why everyone thinks Nowra is a shit hole Thank God I’m moving.
Hi, I’d like more information on the term Transitional. Also is the number of persons expected staying to be capped at the occupation capacity allowed as it is now or are they wanting or expecting to expand. Seems to me a out of the way place to transition people due to its distant location…. Where are they supposed to transition to. Explanation of exactly who these people will be and where they are coming from would help?
As the owners of 7 Lachlan Cres, next door neighbours, I would to request the upstairs windows be frosted on 7 Lachlan side due to privacy issues. Our bedroom windows are facing this side and would to ensure our privacy is protected. I would also like to comment on the shadowing of the development, our house and yard 85% of the property will be in shadow for all of winter. I find this unreasonable given the water that does not reside well enough in the winter months. We will have mosquito plague in the front and rear of the property due to over laying water that doesn't dry due to shadowing. This could become a health risk. I am concerned about the easement line as they are building all the way to the easement.
We are not in favour of this development. Having experienced the recent bushfires when it was impossible to leave Manyana for some days, and we had to queue up for many hours only to be turned away because of the inadequate access to the highway, we feel that another 100 residences would make the situation even more dire and dangerous. This is prime bush and it would spoil the ambience of the little village. We do not even have a postbox at Manyana and no facilities even for the few residences here now.

As these blocks are small to start with, any new buildings will cause drainage problems-where will the run-off go? Where will extra vehicles park? Main building owners park their cars on their driveways. These vehicles don't fit on their own property and jutt out over the public area-the footpath! It's illegal to park cars, boats, trailers, caravans etc on the footpath. It's illegal to block the footpath. As a walker, I constantly have to walk on the road, dodging illegally parked vehicles. Families with small children, prams, the elderly on motorised chairs also have to use the road. Where will extra bins go! How will garbage trucks manoeuvre between extra vehicles to empty bins safely? Will dual occupancy buildings also have to be built with costly fire retardant materials? Extra buildings means extra heat drawn to the area. Environmentally, this is disastrous. Plant grass, grow trees!
I wish to object to any modification to the above D.A. concerning bushfire requirements and car parking spaces. Other developments in Huskisson have had to abide by these regulations. Parking in Huskisson, especially adjacent to large accommodation blocks, is at saturation point now. I am absolutely amazed and disgusted that this proposed development had been passed by S.C.C. at all! This block was not zoned for development of this size. At least 35 submissions against the development have been ignored by S.C.C. It appears that Council is willing to bend or ignore its own regulations to appease the greed of developers. Where will this end?
Yet another dual occupancy in this street. All of low quality and by the same builder. Is there corruption here? Why such a high density of low income housing? This makes almost a whole row of identical dual occupancy residences in one street.
Why are there so many dual occupancies being approved for this subdivision
Why is the council approving so many dual occupancy permits in this area- way to many for the size of the subdivision, and all of low quality by the same builder. Is there an unofficial arrangement between the builder and the council?
What number Macquarie Drive is this 2 story dwelling permit for? It is not stated
I am objecting the the following DA21/2033
I have just moved into the area and are building our new home, we were told that there was no new developments to be built down the back so I now believe what we were told was a lie to get the sale. So are they now saying that by this being a tourist development that this will lead to a greater development later on?
Turning into Tea Tree Lane off BTU is on blind corner heading west and is hard enough with cars and truck coming down the hill from HMAS Albatross. This I believe will increase the chance of a major accident occurring on this bend resulting in major injuries or fatality to persons involved. This development has proceeded to this level without I believe a proper traffic survey being carried out. Council should be aware that BTU RDO is a main route for people travelling to HMAS Albatross and Nerriga.
The noise in the area will also increase from all the traffic coming and going. This is a rural area and the increased noise will detract from the the area.
The road on Tea Tree Lane is not built to withstand increased traffic and my concern is that with the increase in traffic the the road will deteriorate, is council responsible for the maintenance on the road and have they factored the cost into the maintenance budget as a lot of roads in the Shoalhaven are currently in need of maintenance with long delays in this maintenance being carried out.
There are no street lights on Tea Tree Lane and if they are installed will take away from a rural setting and it would be not different from living in town, defeating the reason I paid a lot of money for the land so I could move away from living in an estate .
The proposed road for this development is going to make exiting my driveway difficult.
The plan said this is so people can get a taste of rural living, however with 50 Units I can’t see how this will be achieved as rural living involves having space and quietness around you no someone 25m away .
This has been set as a tourist development however it seems to be set up to become a estate living area in the future.

8 meters high ?
Can this be seen from neighbors , across the valley ?
Are they planning accomodation next for a conference center ?
What's the real purpose ?
