To whom I may concern. Understand I have missed the cutoff on this objection however it was due to a family illness with my mother going through some intense surgery in the last week
My wife Sue and I have lived at 48 river drive for 40 years. We were attracted to teesdale originally due to the fact we could have a rural property that we could accomodate horses on but also due to the fact it was a fantastic rural environment to bring our family up in. The other key factor was that it would not change given we were always of the understanding it would stay that way given tight sub division regulations and also the fact that the area was a flood zone.
One of the key issues we have now with development is water. As I have previously highlighted to the council many times due to developments above us the current infrastructure cannot handle the water that is coming from up above our property. It has caused flooding in our property and continual damage to infrastructure. Again highlighted previously. All of that water drainage goes through our property and into next door 40 river drive. This is highlighted time and time again with vehicles continually being bogged. In fact only recently a slasher could not slash the block in certain areas because of that.
So the proposed 10’metre wide driveway will be washed away first rain storm we have. Any building will be in turn flooded for sure.
My other main concern is that the rural environment that we and others in river drive have enjoyed for over 40 years will be gone. Am sure that the two lots will be split down again and we will end up with town blocks in the heart of a street that has seen no change in over fifty years.
Again I realise I am too late in my objection however I ask council to consider our thoughts. I am actually writing this sitting beside my 80 year mother in Peter McCallum hospital who has endured a nine hour surgery in the last few days which has been our priority.
