It would be a loss to the town should this get approved.
The Shire should consider the loss of the cinema and sport that has already occurred through temporary closure. The subdivision however would ensure it's permanent closure.
Perhaps the shire could look at the benefits of purchasing the building and land and creating a shire owned all abilities community cinema and sports complex as was suggested by the previous owner?
For the good of the town, it does not require more air bnb's or units for only 1 person to benefit from. But instead, it requires more facilities for the entire community to utilise. The location alone should come with a sense of responsibility and duty of care to provide a needed service and /or facility to the community.
Please don't let this happen, there is too much potential for ongoing growth of much needed facilities for the community 🙏
All recent comments on applications from East Gippsland Shire Council, VIC
Unable to find Planning Application 344/2022/P on the East Gippsland Shire Council "Planning Applications" website.
Would like to see details as the proposed development is close to where I live.
Obviously fire affected area?
Did a lot of work in that area just after fires helping Farmer's.
They need help and support from council getting rebuilds and fences back up and we hear from a range of fire affected Farmer's stating the council has been anything but helpful.
I suggest work together, help those who have been affected. Do what Council had promised to do with helping not making life more difficult
It should be noted 7 sunset boulevard is now (Paynesville 3880) no longer Eagle Point 3878

We along with our fellow estate property owners are astounded council would consider granting a permit to subdivide the above address.
The planning of this estate has never covered units or flats and the obvious devaluation of surrounding properties. This type of subdivision would only encourage others to do the same and completely alter the peaceful living of the estate we have all invested in.
What an abortion! The local roads are unable to support this massive increase in traffic!
Not to mention the land handling the waste produced by 208 extra houses! What are the council going to do about 208 houses worth of sewage? Surely 208 house lots will overburden the lands ability to absorb that much waste?
Not to mention the amount of airborne litter and rubbish that will be present. Clifton acres has increased the amount of airborne rubbish and refuse what will 208 extra houses add?
Has a local road survey been completed to see if the rods can handle at least 500 extra cars per day? And has an environmental impact study been completed on 208 extra houses in this area?
I have checked the council website and this permit is not advertised. Therefore I can not make a judgment on the effects the dwelling may have on my property.
This concerns me.
After speaking with planning department of several occasions and being told we could build on this property($2000 on soil test and bal rating) we decided to go in the office to put our forms in only to discover we could not build on this property at all. I have emailed the coucil about 9 days ago now and haven't had any reply.
We looked at buying this property and went into the coucil planning office and was told not buy it because a dwelling would never be able to be built ,this was late January we spent $2000 on getting a soil test bush fire bal rating. If a dwelling goes ahead we will be seeking legal action to recover our money against the coucil.
