All recent comments on applications from City of Whittlesea, VIC
hi i would like to check if you are currently have any subdividing land for sale around dalton road for sale ? thanks
The December 2020 City of Whittlesea Extreme Heat Sub -Plan 2021-2022 has recognised the Lalor, Thomastown and Bundoora are rated as Extremely High when it comes to heatwave vulnerability.
Yet I am receiving almost weekly email alerts about planning applications for multi-unit developments, that are almost inevitably black roofed dog boxes with almost zero green space. After viewing the area via near maps it’s probably not an exaggeration to say that these black roofed dog boxes would struggle to even fit a washing line. Stop letting embarrassing poorly designed applications get through.
This section of Lalor is already over developed with multi uni dwellings. They cause congestion in the street, are unsightly, have no greenery and no prospect of gaining new canopy. Please stop approving uni developments in this area of Lalor. I oppose this decelopment
In 2017 legislation was changed that even if you live in a NRZ you can now build up to three town houses if your block allows it. Previously it was two. This amendment practically makes the NRZ obsolete. The NRZ original purpose was too keep the neighbourhood to low density housing but high influential people had found a way around this and so this doesn't apply anymore.
This part of Lalor is now becoming like another high density suburb of inner Melbourne. Long term residents don't matter any more. Only new investors and greedy developers matter now.
This section of Lalor is increasingly overdeveloped with multi unit blocks. Density of housing is negatively impacting street scape and liveability. This house appears to be an original weatherboard home that is of high street and community appeal. I oppose this development.
It is OK if it is within the growth zone, but not in General residential area. I agree with Peter
$350,000 to build multiple units? These costs are ridiculously low and could not be correct. The last thing we need in the area is more black roofed show boxes adding to congestion and more concrete.
No thanks
Five dog boxes on 669 sq meters absolutely not. Lalor is being completely swamped with re development of poor quality heat boxes with no yards.
Four dwellings on a block that had one house! That's three extra cars for the same streets.
More people to dump rubbish in Scot street! You would think that the council with all the extra rates would get some of its people to come and clean up all the rubbish that's dumped there like it used to do. If the council is going to have a minimum of eight people living in the same block that two lived, the least they can do is spend some of the money keeping the same area clean.
Good morning, is this property for sale or is the business for sale?
Hi Whittlesea,
4 dwellings on a 679 sq meters, no thanks, Lalor has been identified as a suffering form the heat island affect in your own 2016 Greening our streets document but development of black roofed dog boxes continues in the area at rapid pace.
Time to start saying no before its to late.
I think this is a positive for the area.
With little to no land left to purchase in laurimar this gives more opportunity for people to purchase within the laurimar community.
Approval may influence others with un used land to consider subdivision to further expand a great community that is becoming harder to be apart of.
Yes that's it, fill up the blocks with four units ! The council is happy, four rates per block, as if Messmate st wasn't busy enough! More money for the council to waste ! And,... they'll be four extra cars or utes sneaking in the middle of the night to dump rubbish in Scott street, or four mattresses sitting on the nature strip four 12 months instead of one before they're picked up ! With all the extra money the council is getting, you would think they would do something to discourage or punish the people that dump there filth in Scott st. all most every week! I suggested they put up some cameras linked to a hard drive they can go to the next day if someone dumps the rubbish and get their rego. OR to install some lights at the Dalton -Settlement rd. roundabout so we are not playing Russian roulette every time we have to go though it!
To the Greedy Whittlesea council ( any council) , Enough! Enough giving permits to builders and filling up our suburbs with Boxes one attached to the other! All the council is interested in is more rates! Before there we two cars per property, Now they are putting 4-5 "townhouses" on one block and yet we are using the same roads, same sewage pipes ,same storm water pipes, and there is an increase in neighbor arguments because they live so close to one another! There are only three roads that service the Whittlesea council suburbs ( High st., Dalton rd to Cooper st, and Plenty rd.),and they are impossible to drive on During Mornings and a/noon peak hours. The way were are going if we get some heavy rains the drainage system wont be able to cope at all!.
I live in the area and its full of units or town houses . have the council consider it ppl who leave in the area and how busy it will be plus the prices of houses will drop due to the noise and traffic and the amount of police calls to this kind of properties
Can you please advise as to what planning applications have been applied for for this property
The land is burdened with a single dwelling restrictive covenant. Has the restrictive covenant been removed and why weren't the beneficiaries of the restrictive covenant as is required by law notified prior to its removal so they could object.
I have looked at the corner block 1 Mackey Street, Lalor and there is nothing on the fences to say there are 2 dwellings to be built there, hasn't the owners supposed to put something up so people know what is to be built ??
It is a very busy corner so it would be preferred if the new homes were made with garages to hold all their vehicles so not parking on the road.
