Council Submission – Objection to Proposed Two-Storey Development at 241, 243 and 245 Blacktown Road
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to formally object to the proposed development of a two-storey building at 241, 243 and 245 Blacktown Road.
A similar proposal for these same properties was submitted to council approximately four to five years ago and was rejected. The reasons for that decision remain relevant today, and the concerns of local residents have not changed.
Our area is a quiet residential neighbourhood and is located close to both a school and a childcare centre within walking distance, including access from the rear streets. A development designed for people coming and going on a frequent basis would significantly increase traffic, noise and general disruption in the area. This raises safety concerns for children and families who regularly walk to and from these nearby facilities.
Residents in the surrounding streets value the safety, stability and residential character of this neighbourhood. Approving a two-storey development of this nature would be inconsistent with the character of the area and could negatively impact the safety and amenity of local families.
For these reasons, I respectfully request that council carefully consider the previous rejection of a similar proposal and the concerns of the local community, and decline approval for this development.
Thank you for considering the views of local residents.
Kind regards,
Judy Gorman
