Very sad to see this. This is a beautiful historical property that has been tastefully renovated and maintained to house tenants. We are losing too much history and the concern is with proposals such as this which include demolition and extensive construction of new floors and additions. This is a heritage listed property however this does not seem to carry much weight anymore. History and architectural beauty are often frowned upon and seen as a barrier to "progress". Ironically in an age where medium density "affordable" housing development is being fast tracked this proposal will achieve the opposite.
