I oppose this application as there are already 2 established liquor outlets which have been in operation for over 30years
I don’t believe it would be good for the community to have another liquor outlet promoting liquor in such a small shopping village
With having to already have 2 established suppliers they are in a unique position to control responsible service alcohol with limited access from both liquor outlets so adding another liquor license in the Pendle Hill village would potentially increase liquor relate crimes and offences
Another liquor licence is not needed in this location within such close proximity to the two existing liquor outlets in Pendle Hill. The area is well known for alcohol related offences and intoxication.
Adding another Liquor outlet to this small precinct will only increase the existing level of alcohol related problems in the area , as well as present further obstacles to the existing Liquor outlets in relation to the Responsible Service of Alcohol. The proposed trading hours until 10pm daily can only make existing alcohol related problems worse. I understand that as part of the nearby Bonds site redevelopment that a new Supermarket & Liquor store are to be added when that redevelopment proceeds.
Another Liquor outlet on Pendle Way at this time would in my view, not be in the best interests of the community.
In regard to this application, I oppose. There are already two established bottle shops operating within close proximity of the proposed premises, and the addition of another would result in an unnecessary concentration of liquor outlets in the area. This oversupply increases the risk of alcohol-related harm within the area, including antisocial behaviour, noise, littering, and reduced neighbourhood amenity. Further expansion of a liquor-focused precinct would negatively impact community safety and liveability and offers no clear benefit given the existing availability of packaged liquor nearby. For these reasons, I respectfully request that the application be refused.
Police are regularly called to the area already. Another liquor store certainly won't improve things.
