I would like express my dismay at the plan to build a boat shed at 116 Prince Alfred Pde Newport 2016. The first development application for this site was in 2012. It was included with the plans of the house that was then built. The site for this Boatshed is a part of an inlet which is tidal and there is very little water there at low tide.
The construction of a large timber building with a metal roof will be completely out of character in the area. The position would also be an extremely large introduction destroying the beauty of the setting. The Mangrove trees have been able to grow and expand since the last development. Any building in the inlet will harm the Trees.
The site of this proposal is on Crown Land and the original plan in 2012 must have been rejected then and should be now .
