We are really concerned about the visual negative impact of this development that has been operating without approval for years. The storage facility is clearly visible from the road and I don't think the fencing meets rural zoning requirements.
The Playford Council has zoned this area as primary production, not commercial.
There has been noticable increased traffic along surrounding roads with people road testing cars using trade plates.
There are safety and environmental concerns with the impact on water courses running through and beneath the property (aquifer).
Does this business conform with all EPA requirements?
There is the potential for soil contamination from hazardous chemicals caused from storing up to 100 vehicles in open areas.
Consideration needs to be made to the disruption of wildlife in the area eg existing kangaroo, koala and bird population also residents with traffic from the movement of 100 cars in and out of the property.
There is an increased risk of uncontrolled fires with the storage of 100 cars. This means that there will be limited access for ememergency services to attend and control bushfires.
Allowing this development may set a precedent for nearby properties to operate large commercial concerns in the area.
We are extremely concerned that this development will totally change the lifestyle and environment of the area.
