Please do not allow the removal of any more trees on this property. The magnificent turpentine at the back of the property was removed illegally and the large liquid amber at the front is a significant tree.

This tree provides shelter for our cherished wildlife, including powerful owls, tawny frogmouths, numerous parrot species, possums and important pollinating insects. The increasing heat events over summer will be further exacerbated by the removal of more trees. We will have no shade left and air quality will be further compromised. Respect must be shown for our beautiful trees and wildlife and thoughtful, creative planning undertaking for any developments.

I have to agree with Gail's comments, but please note that for these to have any influence with Parramatta council they need to be sent directly to the council as an objection to the application.

Trees do need to be removed or pruned at times, and we have done this ourselves in the past. However, as part of the removal application we indicated that the removed tree would be replaced by another four native trees. The council officer who inspected the site was very helpful, suggesting some alternative species as alternatives to our initial plans. These are now thriving.

I would like to see a change to the Council tree policy, that more actively discourages tree removal except where they represent a genuine danger, for example, and also requiring at least one new replacement tree to be planted wherever possible. This doesn't have to be in the exact same location.
