I strongly object to the proposed change of use to a holiday house.

This proposal will have significant negative impacts on both our local community and the broader housing crisis. The demand for affordable, long-term rental properties is already critical, and converting homes into short-term holiday accommodation only worsens this issue. My key concerns are:
1. Worsening the housing crisis – Reducing the supply of long-term rentals further limits affordable housing options for local residents.
2. Increased noise and disruption – Short-term occupants are less likely to respect established community norms, leading to disturbances.
3. Traffic and parking congestion – A high turnover of visitors will add strain to local streets and parking availability.
4. Pressure on local infrastructure – Utilities, waste management, and public amenities will be disproportionately impacted.
5. Loss of community character – The transient nature of short-term rentals weakens neighbourhood cohesion and stability.

I urge decision-makers to prioritise the needs of the community and reject this application. Thoughtful planning must focus on maintaining community stability and addressing the urgent shortage of long-term rental housing.
