I am writing to strongly object to the proposed change of use to a holiday house.

My concerns stem from both the immediate impacts on our community and the broader context of the housing crisis. The housing crisis is critical, with affordable rental properties in high demand. Converting homes to short-term holiday accommodations exacerbates this issue.

Specifically, I object to the following:

- Reducing the availability of affordable, long-term rental properties, which exacerbates the housing crisis.
- Increased noise and disturbance from short-term occupants who may not adhere to established community norms.
- Parking congestion and heightened traffic due to the constant turnover of temporary visitors.
- Added strain on local infrastructure, including utilities, waste management, and public amenities.
- Erosion of community cohesion caused by the transient nature of short-term tenants.

I urge that these concerns be given due consideration, and that the application ultimately be rejected. Protecting the character and well-being of our neighbourhood requires thoughtful planning that prioritises long-term community stability and addresses the urgent need for affordable housing.
