Re property camden road douglas park 2569 for re development to a 132place childcare facility.
I reject this development stating the following conditions
It is too close to the railway line as there will be a backup of traffic comming over the railway line as does happen with the pre school opposite the shop. Garbage morning you have to sit and wait until he collects all the bins and you cannot pass the traffic has been backed to the railway line. There are no footpaths on the side for wet weather, there would have to be a pedestrian crossing. Where do the 132 children go when they have an emergency , emergency drills are performed every 3 months. Not only will people from here maybe but wilton and menangle and menangle park will use this facility also with the cemetry on the other side of the gorge with 6 to 8 funerals a day makes this a very dangerous road come have a look day in day out used as a speed strip. As residents we have a right to object and be listened to being that our privacy is being taken away.It has to be respected that we are a small rural town and have had an invasion of the mines the cemetry and now another pre school that is not needed. Go to morton park road and build as big as u want pre school makes more sence Young families re locating to that area.

The acoustic report specifies two relatively small outdoor play areas together with various scenarios with a different number and age range of children restricted to these outdoor areas. The acoustic report, as a direct result of these artificial scenarios then predicts noise levels will achieve compliance with the relevant acoustic design requirements of Wollondilly Shire Council, NSW EPA, NSW DPE, SEPP and the AAAC.

Any reasonable person can see that an active childcare centre will use (not unreasonably) the area outside the acoustic report's designated outdoor play areas, and that it will be unlikely and perhaps unreasonable for staff to ensure the age and number of children, let alone control the noise they make to comply with the acoustic report scenarios.

The facts are clear that the centre is proposed close to neighbouring properties in an area that is relatively quiet compared to most other suburban residential areas. The noise from the children will therefore be an unreasonable impost on neighbours.

Further acoustic controls that will limit the disturbance without limiting the number, age or location of children in the outdoor area is required before this DA is considered for approval. Therefore, in its current form, I object to this DA.

RE Child Care Center 168 Camden Rd Douglas Park.
As residents living in cross proximity to this proposed child care center we are concerned about the traffic situation . On viewing the plans for the underground car park I have noticed that the parking is very tight with not a lot of room to manoeuvre the volume of cars that will be coming and going morning and afternoon. With many families having larger cars I feel they will try the underground parking once and then opt to parking on the street which will then impact on our view and safety when we are trying to get out of our driveway whilst we are coming and going. Also with 28 staff members working there most of the 35 car parks with be taken by them and if not they will be parked on the street also.
Not to mention no footpaths or no safe way to cross from one side of the road to the other ,traffic congestion when a train is at the station and an increased traffic flow on an already busy road with workers using Camden Rd as a short cut through to Wollongong and not adhering to the speed limit, this is an accident waiting to happen.
looking at the plans for the actual center, the design of the building doesn't fit with the surrounding designs and feel it will be an eyesore
