As you are likely aware, Mahoneys Road is already experiencing a significant influx of traffic, particularly during peak hours. The prospect of a business park in the vicinity raises serious concerns about exacerbating the existing traffic problems. The claims of having appropriate traffic lights and control measures are, in my opinion, inaccurate, and I fear that the proposed development will only worsen the already challenging commute for local residents. As a homeowner/occupier resident who already struggles to access my property on a good day, the increase of cars and lack of appropriate traffic lights surrounding the intended business park will actually create more of a burden to residents than good.

It is disheartening to note that there has been no apparent effort to seek input from the local community regarding the potential impact of this business park. As a resident, I feel that our voices and concerns have been overlooked in the decision-making process. I strongly urge the council to prioritize community engagement and consider the views of those who will be directly affected by this development.

The safety of residents should be paramount in any decision regarding significant developments. Given the history of crashes on the M80 and instances of people cutting across Mahoneys Road, it is evident that the area is already prone to safety issues. Introducing a business park without addressing these concerns adequately is a recipe for disaster.

The residential population in the area is growing, and it is essential to consider the implications of introducing a business park in such close proximity. I believe that responsible urban planning should prioritize the well-being and quality of life for existing residents.

Rather than placing a business park so close to residential areas, I propose that alternative locations further away from residential zones be explored.
